LORI SEALY is daily amazed at the grace of God that has been poured out in her life, as well as by the all-wise hand of His providence that has carved her every step - including the really hard steps. Nearly aborted, graciously adopted, and later abandoned, Lori has traveled the road of atheism and lived a life of autism. Along the way she's wrestled deeply with doubt, and through that wrestling has learned to rest in the precious promises of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Through all the ups and downs of her journey - the "many dangers, toils, and snares" - she has found Christ faithful, even when she's been faithless and has seen the sovereign mercy of her God form hope out of hopelessness and grant light even in the deepest darkness.
You'll find the silver thread of that hope and light weaving its way throughout all of her music. Lori's songwriting reflects a personal experience with suffering in this fallen world and, much more importantly, displays an intimate acquaintance with a Savior named Jesus who has been kindly redeeming all that has been broken. Lori began playing piano at the age of 5 and was classically trained until the age of 20. At age 10 she started writing her first songs - creating compositions that fell eclectically along folk, jazz, classical, rock, and electronic genres. Growing up in South Carolina, she now lives in Cullowhee, NC, with her two (almost) adult children - Joshua and Elizabeth. In January of 2020, Lori became a widow after the death of her beloved husband of 25 years - PCA church planter, Phillip Sealy. The grief is great - it really is, but God's grace truly is greater ... and greater ... and greater! Christocentric songs that are pleasing to the ear, soothing to the soul, and engaging to the mind.
